John P. Wilson is a dedicated public servant and social services professional with over 30 years of experience in case management, disaster response, and community leadership. His career began with the Indiana Department of Child Services, where he spent over a decade advocating for vulnerable children and families. As a Program Manager at Catholic Social Services of Mobile from 2010 to 2019, he developed disaster response programs and coordinated emergency preparedness efforts across community organizations in the region. His expertise in disaster case management was further demonstrated by leadership roles within the Mississippi Case Management Consortium and as President of both the Alabama and Mobile County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD).
John’s commitment to public service continues with his current roles as a Councilperson for Ward 4 on the City of Adair Village Council and as a Planning Commissioner for Benton County, where he hears land use matters and makes recommendations on development proposals. Previously, he served in elected office as a Town Councilperson for Battle Ground, Indiana, Director of the Battle Ground Conservancy District, and on the Tippecanoe County Area Planning Commission.
John holds a Master’s of Liberal Arts in Leadership and Ethics from Spring Hill College and a Bachelor’s of Arts in English from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He has also shared his wealth of experience as an adjunct faculty member at Ivy Tech Community College, teaching courses on human services and diversity. Currently residing in the City of Adair Village, Oregon, John continues his dedication to community service as a volunteer member of the City of Adair Village Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
