John Earns Endorsements from Congresswoman Val Hoyle and State Senator Sarah Gelser Blouin

John Wilson is proud to announce the endorsements of U.S. Congresswoman Val Hoyle (Oregon 4th District) and Oregon State Senator Sarah Gelser Blouin ahead of the November general election.

Congresswoman Hoyle represents Oregon's 4th Congressional District, which includes Benton County, and has been a tireless advocate for working families, healthcare access, and Oregon communities in Washington D.C. Senator Gelser Blouin represents Senate District 8 and has been a leading voice in the Oregon Legislature on disability rights, mental health, and human services — areas that align closely with John's 30-year background in social work.

"I'm honored to have the support of leaders who have spent their careers fighting for the people of Oregon," John said. "Their endorsements reflect our shared values and our commitment to making Benton County a place where everyone can thrive."

Primary victory announcement

John Wilson Wins Democratic Primary for Benton County Commissioner

John Wilson has won the Democratic primary for Benton County Commissioner, Position 1, defeating two-term incumbent Pat Malone in the May 19th election.

Wilson thanked Malone for his years of public service. "Pat Malone gave eight years to this county, and that deserves respect," Wilson said. "I'm grateful to the voters who put their trust in me, and I don't take that lightly." Wilson credits his success to the groundswell of grassroots support he received from both volunteers and small donors, eager to see fresh leadership brought to the board of commissioners.

Wilson brings decades of public service to the role, currently serving on the Benton County Planning Commission and the Adair Village City Council. He secured a $4 million wastewater infrastructure grant for Adair Village through direct engagement with state legislators, and his background includes social work and disaster recovery coordination.

His campaign focused on practical, near-term action on the challenges facing Benton County: a declining solid waste recovery rate and an approaching landfill closure deadline, housing access, rural transit, and responsible land use planning.

"The challenges in front of this county aren't abstractions — they're on a timeline," Wilson said. "My focus from day one has been on doing the work to get ahead of them, and that doesn't change."

Wilson advances to the November general election, where he will continue making the case for his experienced and accountable leadership on the Benton County Board of Commissioners.
